Last year I met Garry Leach at BICS. He had just presented a masterclass in painting
Dan Dare which was great. And he was very enthusiastic and complimentary about my portfolio (and introduced me to
Rufus Dayglo).
Did I remember at the time that he worked on one of my 2000AD favourites The VC's? Nope, not until I got home that night. I still feel a proper tit.

Ah, I loved the VCs! It was originally Mike McMahon wasn't it, then quickly replaced by a new artist called Cam Kennedy whose work looked a lot like McM's back then. He was new to the 11 year old me anyway, which made him a bit of an impostor in those days.
Love your pic.
Last few posts are great WJC...
If I met Leach, I'd positively embarrass myself effusing about the effect MARVELMAN had on the eleven year old me.
Mick, then Garry and Cam take it turns for a bit then John Richardson. They've had another go since but i've no idea what that's like. And thanks Rob.
Colin, thanks! Glad you like 'em.
Mark i'm afraid Marvelman also went under the radar but what I've seen looks cracking (and exhausting for an 11 year old)
I worked with DAVID leach many years ago and made a point of telling him how much I liked his work on Marvelman. :-(
