Last days as OOSA guest artist

This month it has been a privilege to have been Out of Step Arts Guest Artist for november. They are a collective of some of my favourite artists working at the moment and I am dead happy to have been able to join in with them. I got to see the print in the flesh last week at CTN Expo and it's a cracker.

The Gungle print is still available right now, here.

The Lakes International Comic Art Festival 2015

This coming weekend (16-18 October) is LICAF I was very lucky to have been a part of last years Festival, participating in the 24 Hour comic event (the result, Tom Hand is here)

This year the Titan hardcover of 21st Century Tank Girl is being launched 1 month before book shop release. I will be part of a panel on Saturday at The Brewery Arts Centre between 4-5. With Alan Martin- The Tankfather and Jonathan Edwards talking all about this stuff. We'll be signing the shiny new print of the book both before and after on the saturday and Alan and I will be part of an international line-up of comic talent on public display in a darts tournament on the sunday. There will be more Lakes updates this week as I remember the things I've forgotten.

What the Hell is going on?

I'm busy, Gungle is nearer then it was but my intention to have it done this year is not going to work. Early next though, at least that's when the pages will be all in a tidy box for editing and all that jazz. This summer did not go as planned but there's been drawing on the go. More posts to follow as there all sorts coming up, cons and projects, hopefully more posts too.

Brighton Illustration Fair

This weekend I'll be at the first Brighton Illustration Fair (@bifteen on twitter @wearebif on instagram) and it looks to be a belter! Among all the stuff going on there at 3pm Saturday I will be doing a Tank Girl drawing masterclass* for those who are keen (with a prize to award!)

*how i do it anyway.
Exclusively made for the event, I have this Tank Girl A3 (11.7x 16.5") print, beautifully produced by the skilled hands at Ripe Digital in celebration of the release of 21st Century Tank Girl #1 this month from Titan.
See you there!

NB. Workload at present has me on some high speed cruise control through a deadline asteroid field and has for a while now. I will be frazzled but happy.

And after Brighton this weekend I will be at Elcaf in June, Nottingham Comic Con and LICAF in October and Thought Bubble in November.

London Super Comic Con

It's the 4th London Super Comic Con this weekend and I'll be there for my 4th time at
Artists Alley Table A125 (top right)
I'll have Dangeritis, Tom Hand, Quinthaven there and this years Collected Views new out.
Also, a bunch of original drawings for sale.
I'll be doing shaky drawings all weekend but if you're going and want something smarter, let me know and I can make a start. ( warwick@izlet.co.uk )

Ink Practice 2015 Week 2 'CARS'

I started with Mad Max' Interceptor, then The Creepy Coupe. I had planned to draw The Brocnoviach (more than one) from Condorman but ended up doing the rest of the Whacky Racers.

Remaining Racers in my shop now

Ink Practice for 2015

I spent much of last year working with pencil finishes and left ink alone for the greater part. As a consequence I did manage to produce some really ropey ink images which have haunted me since (Only a few wrong uns but enough to realise I need to keep my hand in the ink/ felt pen pot) The solution is a 10 to 20 minute ink only image each day, as many days as I can manage this year. To add to the misery/ excitement I want to try to tackle subjects that i don't normally try out.

First week, motorcycles.

Also, this first weeks pens were an orange and a black Sakura Pigma Brush Pen and a Platinum Souhitsu Fude (double end black/ grey) pen.
