Live pencil action

I've always been keen to try this out and to be honest I thought i'd make it as fancy as possible before posting it anywhere. But I haven't. Tried it this morning with a new camera. First go on iMovie and first Youtube upload. There are likely to be more, though any expectation should be for exactly the same as this.

Slightly odd seeing myself draw. A lot like seeing yourself walking or hearing your own voice. Interesting.

That was nice! great to see it all as it happens. I guess it's about 'seeing', the hand just does the practical bit!
... and 'that hand' does the 'practical bit' amazingly!!

Fascinating! What pen are you using?

That was the Z Cars theme? It seemed more like jaunty pirate music to me and so I thought it fit you quite well.

Scott, many thanks, Most kind.

Reds, I tend to stick to an 0.7 propelling pencil, this one is a Faber-Castell but bought in error (I thought it was about 3 quid and it was about 6)

It was Adam, though i'll dig out the jaunty pirate stuff for the next one.

really interesting! thanks for posting it!

do you always draw without construction lines like this? or is your approach to layout different for comics?

Great to see this, WJC!

Thank you all you peoples!

Sammy, for whole pages I thumbnail them out but fairly tiny. Pictures/ panels are often thought through/ sketched in some cases but prefer to go down with least amount of underdrawing or tracing in case i miss the best line. (mainly tracing rather than underdrawing in my case)

Thanks again everybody.

Thank you so much. It's always interesting to see someone else draw. Where the startpoint is and how you continue from that point.
