I took the opportunity to take these process pics with my flipping awful phone camera while doing it. I'll try this exercise again sometime with some better gear, these pictures make Boggy Creek and Loch Ness Monster footage look positively 'HD' but I hope you get the idea. Taken between 11:59 and 12:36 on sunday.

I love this. You deal with the centre crease of the Moleskine very well and the finished panel looks great. What type of pencil are you using?

I tend to use .7 propelling pencil, sometime 1.0 when the nippers haven't bust them. No particular make though in this case I was debuting my new Faber 'Grip2011' which looks pretty swish but I only bought 'cos I read the price wrong.
So jealous of your graphic shapes:) Can't see any underdrawing- do you kinda go freestyle, or visualize the image first? Is it deliberate?

There's no underdrawing. There's the idea of whats going to go on and how that could be composed but it's just an idea, nothing on paper.
Thanks for sharing the WiP, always lovely to see the image appear like that, maybe you should animate it like those old 'cartoons' on Rainbow (with suitably grating sound effects.). I love watching a drawing take shape, though obviously can't bear anyone to watch me draw (except my kids)

Nik, i'd love to be able to draw anytime when there are people around and sometimes manage it but the few times i've been asked at cons i get 'the chronic shaky hand shakes' which messes my line up a treat.

Is it just me or does 'underdrawing' sound like something worn beneath the britches of the well-to-do Victorian gentry?
